Updated Version and Info V.2 The Obsidian Ecosystem
Obsidian Foundation, Obsidian Network, OBS Coin, and the Full Digital Economy

Executive Overview

The Obsidian ecosystem is a blockchain-powered digital economy designed to unite identity, payments, social interaction, virtual land ownership, developer infrastructure, decentralized trading, and long-term community participation under one network.

At the center of the ecosystem is Obsidian Network, the blockchain network itself. The native coin is Obsidian Seal Coin, commonly referred to as OBS Coin. The ecosystem is guided by The Obsidian Foundation, with The Black Seal as the public founder identity and visionary lead. Around this foundation sits a complete digital stack of connected products and services, including wallets, the explorer, the mining platform, Obsidian Name Service, Obsidian Circle, OBS Social, the decentralized exchange, and the developer portal.

The long-term vision is not to build a single app. The goal is to build a full ecosystem where people can own assets, move value, create identities, build communities, register names, trade, publish content, explore virtual land, and participate in the network through a shared blockchain foundation.

Every major part of the ecosystem is designed to feed utility back into OBS Coin, strengthen network participation, and create real demand across the system.

1. The Obsidian Foundation

The Obsidian Foundation is the stewarding and coordinating entity for the ecosystem. It exists to preserve the vision, maintain the standards, guide the roadmap, and support the long-term integrity of the Obsidian Network and its applications.

The Foundation is the strategic anchor of the ecosystem. It is responsible for the broader mission, ecosystem guidance, product direction, and public communication around the network. It connects the blockchain layer, the application layer, the developer layer, and the community layer into one coherent project.

The Foundation does not exist as a product by itself. It exists to protect the ecosystem’s vision and to keep the network moving in a consistent direction.

Founder identity: The Black Seal.

2. Obsidian Network

Obsidian Network is the blockchain network at the center of the ecosystem. It is the foundation on which every product, every payment, every identity, and every blockchain-backed interaction is built.

The network is designed to provide:

- A secure blockchain ledger

- Native coin issuance and supply rules

- Transaction validation

- Block validation

- Wallet balance determination

- Ownership tracking

- Protocol-enforced rules

- Long-term ecosystem utility

Obsidian Network is not just a coin project. It is the infrastructure that powers the entire Obsidian economy.

The network is intended to support multiple applications that all share the same blockchain source of truth. That means the blockchain remains the final authority for balances, ownership, confirmations, and asset movement.

3. Obsidian Seal Coin (OBS Coin)

The native currency of the ecosystem is Obsidian Seal Coin, referred to throughout this document as OBS Coin.

OBS Coin is the payment and utility currency used across the ecosystem for:

- Wallet transfers

- Mining claims and withdrawals

- ONS registrations and renewals

- Obsidian Circle land purchases and transfers

- OBS Social tipping, ads, verification, business pages, and premium actions

- DEX trading

- Future ecosystem services

OBS Coin is intended to be the single native economic engine that ties the ecosystem together.

The ecosystem uses a pricing model where services may be priced in USD for stability, while payments are settled in OBS Coin based on the live market exchange rate from the Obsidian DEX. This allows the ecosystem to maintain stable product pricing while preserving OBS Coin as the payment currency.

4. Obsidian Core

Obsidian Core is the node software and blockchain engine behind the network.

It is the protocol layer that handles:

- Peer-to-peer networking

- Block propagation

- Transaction propagation

- Blockchain synchronization

- Consensus enforcement

- Chain validation

- Blockchain storage

- Network identity

- Node discovery

- Secure communication between nodes

- RPC/API services used by ecosystem applications

Obsidian Core is not the public user interface. It is the authoritative blockchain engine that the rest of the ecosystem depends on.

The core design principle is simple:

The blockchain must be the source of truth.

Not a website database.

Not a VPS database.

Not a single application server.

Obsidian Core makes the blockchain independent of any single website or front-end.

5. Obsidian Interface

Obsidian Interface is the self-hostable modular application suite that presents the ecosystem to users.

It is the front-end layer that can be deployed by different websites, communities, businesses, exchanges, universities, and independent operators. The same interface can be hosted in many places while connecting to the same Obsidian Core network.

The interface is modular and may include:

- Wallet

- Explorer

- Mining

- DEX

- ONS

- Developer tools

- API gateway

- Social interfaces

- Future ecosystem modules

This design means the ecosystem does not depend on one domain or one hosting provider. If one website goes offline, another compatible interface can still connect to healthy Obsidian Core nodes.

The Obsidian Interface can therefore be understood as the public application shell around the network.

6. Wallets and Wallet Format

The ecosystem includes the official OBS Wallet and the broader OBS WalletApp.

OBS Wallet

The native wallet is built specifically for OBS Coin and is used for:

- Sending OBS

- Receiving OBS

- Viewing balances

- Viewing transaction history

- Managing wallet access

- Securely using the network

OBS WalletApp

The WalletApp is the broader wallet experience and can support multiple assets and multiple blockchain interactions, depending on the ecosystem configuration discussed earlier.

Wallet format

Wallet addresses use the Obsidian-style blockchain format, and public display in the explorer is privacy-preserving.

The explorer does not publicly reveal full wallet balances.

The explorer also does not publicly expose full wallet identities in a way that makes the user’s entire balance visible. Wallet addresses are partially shown, such as "obs1q4g8......", and privacy remains part of the display model.

This privacy model is intentional. The explorer is for transparency of the chain, not for exposing users’ full wallet balances publicly.

7. How Wallets Appear in the Explorer

The explorer shows blockchain data, but it does so in a privacy-conscious way.

What is visible in the explorer:

- Block data

- Transaction records

- Partial wallet addresses

- Confirmation status

- Network information

- Public blockchain metadata

What is not publicly visible:

- Full wallet balances

- Full private wallet details

- Seed phrases

- Private keys

- Sensitive user account information

The explorer is a public blockchain window, not a full public wallet dashboard.

That means wallet ownership can be verified on-chain, but the complete wallet balance is not exposed to the public explorer.

8. Obsidian Explorer

The Obsidian Explorer is the public tool for browsing the blockchain.

It allows users to:

- View blocks

- Search transactions

- Inspect partial wallet references

- Check confirmations

- Browse chain history

- Monitor network activity

The explorer is read-only. It does not maintain separate blockchain truth. It reflects the verified blockchain state from Obsidian Core.

The explorer is designed to be transparent while still preserving privacy for users.

9. The Mining Platform

The Mining Platform in the Obsidian ecosystem is a claim-based distribution system, not traditional proof-of-work mining.

Users register, log in, and claim rewards on a fixed schedule.

Mining claim rhythm

- Claim interval: every 4 hours

- Claims per day: 6

- Current claim reward: 0.000166666666666666 OBS per claim

- Displayed approximation: 0.00016 OBS

- Maximum daily reward: 0.001 OBS

The platform is designed to make early ecosystem participation accessible and continuous.

Reward floor

To protect long-term participation, the mining model includes a permanent floor:

- Minimum daily reward floor: 0.0002 OBS per 24 hours

- The daily floor is split across 6 claims

This floor prevents the reward from becoming meaningless as the ecosystem grows.

Active miner-based halving logic

The halving and reduction mechanism is tied to active miners, not simply registered users.

An active miner is a user who has claimed at least once within the last 30 days.

The reward reduction rule is:

- Reduce rewards by 0.5% for every additional 100,000 active miners

This means the ecosystem is protected from extreme reward collapse caused by massive numbers of inactive accounts.

Why this matters

If halving were tied only to registration growth, the mining reward could become too small as the system scales. By using active miners, the network rewards real participation rather than inactive signups.

10. Mining and Genesis Allocation

The total supply model of the coin is designed around long-term scarcity and ecosystem growth.

Total/max supply

- Total max supply: 21,000,000 OBS

- 21 million are available for mining over time

Genesis mining allocation

The first genesis mining allocation is:

- 3,000,000 OBS

This first tranche is reserved for:

- Ecosystem growth

- Development

- Testing

- Beta phase rewards

- Developer rewards

- Future feature testing

This approach makes the earliest supply useful to the ecosystem instead of leaving it detached from the launch process.

Why this structure exists

The early distribution is meant to support:

- Real users

- Real development

- Real ecosystem feedback

- Real testing

- Long-term network growth

The goal is to turn the coin into a living ecosystem asset from the beginning.

11. Fee Model and Mining Pool Recycling

The network gas fee is part of the ecosystem’s long-term sustainability model.

The standard rule discussed across the ecosystem is:

- Gas fee: 0.02% of the OBS amount transferred

- Maximum gas fee: 0.01 OBS

A core rule of the ecosystem is that eligible gas fees are recycled back into the Mining Pool.

This means the ecosystem does not treat gas fees as dead cost by default. Instead, the system replenishes the Mining Pool through network activity, helping the mining economy remain sustainable over time.

This fee recycling model applies to ecosystem transactions where the protocol design allows it.

The intended result is a closed-loop economic system:

- Users pay fees

- Fees return to the mining pool

- Mining pool supports distribution

- Distribution supports usage

- Usage supports the network

This keeps value circulating inside the ecosystem.

12. Obsidian Name Service (ONS)

Obsidian Name Service gives users human-readable blockchain identities ending in ".obs".

Examples include:

- john.obs

- company.obs

- blackseal.obs

A ".obs" name can function as:

- Social username

- Payment address

- Wallet alias

- Creator identity

- Business identity

- Ecosystem identity

Instead of sending coins to a long blockchain address, users can send to a human-readable ".obs" name.

ONS pricing tiers

The pricing structure discussed for ONS includes three levels:

Level 1 — Premium Names

Examples: bank.obs, bitcoin.obs, nigeria.obs, government.obs

- Registration: $700 per year

- Renewal: $500 per year

Level 2 — Enhanced Names

Examples: fintech.obs, travel.obs, marketplace.obs, exchange.obs

- Registration: $500 per year

- Renewal: $400 per year

Level 3 — Standard Names

Examples: emmanuel.obs, myshop.obs, obsbuilder.obs

- Registration: $300 per year

- Renewal: $200 per year

How it works

The name price is stored in USD for stability. At payment time, the system converts the USD amount into the equivalent OBS amount using the live DEX market price.

The ".obs" name becomes an on-chain asset. It can be transferred, sold, and managed according to the ecosystem rules.

13. Obsidian Circle (OC)

Obsidian Circle is the blockchain-based virtual Earth and land ecosystem built on the Obsidian Network.

It recreates the real world digitally so players can own, trade, hold, transfer, and invest in virtual land that represents real-world places.

Obsidian Circle is one of the most ambitious parts of the ecosystem because it combines geography, ownership, value, scarcity, and blockchain-backed land identity in one system.

Digital Earth

Players start with a realistic 3D Earth and can move through the world in layers:

- Globe

- Continent

- Country

- State or province

- City

- District

- Street

- Parcel

They can search by:

- Country

- State or province

- City

- Street name

- Street number where available

- Landmark

- GPS coordinates

The goal is to let people find the virtual version of real places, including places they know or own in real life.

Parcel structure

Each parcel can contain:

- Country

- First-level administrative division

- City

- District

- Street

- Address where available

- Parcel ID

- GPS coordinates

- Land size

- Owner

- Transaction history

Each parcel is unique.

Land pricing

Land is priced in USD and paid in OBS Coin.

The protocol calculates the OBS amount using the live OBS/USD exchange rate from the Obsidian DEX.

Example:

- GLV = $10,000

- DEX price = 1 OBS = $100

- Buyer pays 100 OBS plus gas

If the DEX price later becomes 1 OBS = $200, the same land still has a GLV of $10,000, but now costs 50 OBS.

Initial General Land Value (GLV)

Every first-level administrative division receives a starting GLV between:

- Minimum: $100

- Maximum: $30,000

These divisions include:

- States

- Provinces

- Regions

- Departments

- Governorates

- Emirates

- Prefectures

- Cantons

- Counties

- Districts

- Municipalities

- Territories

- Autonomous Regions

- Republics

- Krais

- Oblasts

- Parishes

- Atolls

The protocol uses factors such as:

- Population

- Economic activity

- Infrastructure

- Tourism

- Global significance

Equal starting value within a region

Every parcel in the same first-level division starts with the same GLV.

For example, if Florida is assigned a GLV of $10,000, then every parcel in Florida begins at $10,000, regardless of whether it is in Florida or New York.

Land value concepts

Obsidian Circle uses three value layers:

GLV — General Land Value

The protocol value of the area. Only protocol purchases and protocol buybacks change this value.

ILV — Individual Land Value

The value of a specific parcel. Marketplace purchases can affect ILV.

MSP — Market Selling Price

The price chosen by the owner when listing on the marketplace.

Protocol purchase vs marketplace

Two purchase modes exist:

Protocol market

The protocol sells new land. Only one plot or one square metre at a time may be bought in a protocol transaction. This helps update GLV carefully and prevents bulk distortion.

Marketplace

Players trade directly with one another. The seller sets the MSP. Buyers decide whether to buy. Marketplace trades do not change the official GLV.

Land status

The land interface uses clear status states:

- Available

- Owned

- Listed

- Your Land

Gifting

Land can be gifted to another player without a sale. Ownership changes on-chain and only the standard gas fee is charged.

14. OBS Social

OBS Social is the decentralized social economy of Obsidian Network.

It combines social media, digital identity, creator monetization, commerce, tipping, advertising, verification, and blockchain-backed ownership into one platform.

It is designed so that OBS Coin is not just a speculative asset, but a native social currency used across the platform.

Standard social features

OBS Social includes familiar social features such as:

- User profiles

- News feed

- Posts

- Comments

- Likes and reactions

- Shares

- Follow and followers

- Direct messaging

- Pages for businesses, brands, and organizations

- Creator profiles

The experience feels like a modern social network, but the economy is powered by OBS Coin.

Built-in non-custodial wallet

Every account includes a built-in non-custodial OBS wallet.

Users can:

- Send OBS

- Receive OBS

- Store OBS

- Withdraw to another OBS wallet

- Deposit OBS

- Connect to the built-in DEX

The user always retains ownership through the recovery phrase.

Universal ".obs" identity

Every user can purchase a ".obs" name that functions as:

- Social username

- Payment address

- Wallet alias

- Creator identity

- Business identity

Examples include:

- john.obs

- company.obs

- blackseal.obs

The owner may update the wallet address from the ".obs" management panel at any time.

A ".obs" name is on-chain and can be transferred or sold. If a ".obs" identity is transferred, the previous owner’s social profile loses that username and reverts to a default username until another ".obs" name is selected.

Flexible usernames

Users may either:

- Use a system-generated username

- Use a purchased ".obs" identity

This keeps the platform open to everyone while still creating demand for ".obs" names.

Creator tipping

Creators can receive OBS tips from:

- Posts

- Profiles

- Comments where enabled

Tipping is instant and uses the built-in wallet.

Creator monetization

Creators become eligible for monetization after meeting requirements such as:

- 100,000 monthly views

Advertising revenue is shared:

- 70% to eligible creators

- 30% to Obsidian Network

Creators are paid directly in OBS Coin.

Business pages

Businesses, organizations, and public figures can create dedicated pages.

Creating a page requires paying the equivalent of $50 in OBS Coin. This helps reduce spam and keeps the network useful for legitimate brands.

Pages can:

- Run advertisements

- Sell products

- Build communities

- Receive tips

- Receive OBS payments

Verification system

OBS Social supports two verification badges:

- Blue badge for verified personal profiles

- Gold badge for verified business pages and organizations

Verification requires identity verification for profiles and business verification for pages.

Rules include:

- One verified profile per real person

- Additional accounts may exist but cannot receive another personal verification badge

- Business pages can be verified independently after business verification

Verification subscriptions may be paid monthly or annually using OBS Coin.

Marketplace with escrow

OBS Social includes a decentralized marketplace similar to Facebook Marketplace.

All transactions use OBS Coin and are protected through escrow.

Funds are only released after:

- Delivery confirmation

- Successful dispute resolution

This reduces fraud in peer-to-peer commerce.

Advertising

Businesses purchase advertising exclusively using OBS Coin.

This creates additional real-world demand for OBS and helps fund creator monetization.

15. Time Capsule Wall

The Time Capsule Wall is the flagship feature of OBS Social.

It allows users to create posts that remain permanently hidden until a chosen future date.

When creating a capsule, the user chooses:

- Unlock date

- Commitment amount

- Content

Once submitted:

- Nobody can read the contents

- Even the creator cannot access the contents

- The capsule cannot be edited

- The capsule cannot be deleted

The blockchain permanently guarantees its integrity.

Commitment mechanism

Creating a Time Capsule requires committing OBS.

- Minimum commitment: 0.0001 OBS

- No maximum limit

The committed OBS becomes protocol-locked.

It cannot be withdrawn, recovered, or spent.

The commitment remains locked until the unlock date. At the exact unlock time, the capsule becomes public and the locked OBS is transferred to the Mining Pool.

This creates temporary scarcity while supporting the mining economy over time.

Today, I am excited to introduce the vision behind Obsidian Network—a next-generation blockchain ecosystem designed to bring digital ownership, decentralized finance, identity, and virtual real-world assets together under one unified platform.

At the heart of the ecosystem is Obsidian Seal Coin (OBS), the native cryptocurrency that powers every application and service across the network. Rather than building isolated products, Obsidian Network is being designed as a complete ecosystem where every component works together seamlessly.

The Ecosystem Roadmap

Obsidian Network

A Layer-1 blockchain built to provide secure, transparent, and decentralized transactions for the entire ecosystem.

Obsidian Seal Coin (OBS)

The native digital currency of the network, used for payments, transfers, trading, land purchases, ecosystem services, and future applications.

OBS Wallet

The official non-custodial wallet for securely storing, sending, receiving, and recovering Obsidian Seal Coin using a private seed phrase.

OBS WalletApp

A multi-asset wallet that supports OBS alongside major digital assets, allowing users to manage multiple cryptocurrencies from one secure application.

Obsidian Explorer

A public blockchain explorer providing transparent access to blocks, transactions, wallet activity, and overall network statistics.

Genesis Mining Platform

A community mining platform where users earn OBS through participation, helping distribute the currency fairly while supporting long-term network growth.

Decentralized Order Book Exchange (DEX)

A peer-to-peer exchange built directly into every OBS Wallet, allowing users to trade OBS without giving custody of their assets to a centralized intermediary. Market prices are determined entirely by supply and demand.

Obsidian Name Service (ONS)

A decentralized naming system that replaces long wallet addresses with simple human-readable names ending in .obs, making blockchain transactions easier and more user-friendly.

Obsidian Circle (OC)

A blockchain-powered virtual Earth where players can search real-world locations, own digital representations of land, trade property using OBS, and participate in a transparent virtual real-estate economy.

Developer Platform

A platform that enables developers to build applications, services, and integrations using the Obsidian Network through official APIs and development tools.

One Connected Ecosystem

Every part of the Obsidian ecosystem is designed to work together:

- Mine OBS.

- Store it securely.

- Send and receive payments.

- Trade through the decentralized exchange.

- Register and use .obs names.

- Purchase and trade virtual land in Obsidian Circle.

- Build new applications on the network.

All powered by a single blockchain and one native currency: Obsidian Seal Coin (OBS).

A Unified Economic Model

Every paid product and service in the ecosystem is priced in USD for consistency, while all payments are made exclusively in OBS using the live decentralized market price.

A universal network fee of 0.02%, capped at 0.01 OBS, applies across the ecosystem. Network fees are recycled back into the OBS mining pool, creating a circular economy that rewards continued participation. The only exception is Obsidian Name Service (.obs) registrations and renewals, which support the ecosystem treasury.

Long-Term Vision

Obsidian Network is being built with a long-term vision of creating a self-sustaining blockchain ecosystem where users can own their assets, control their identities, trade freely, build applications, and participate in a transparent digital economy without relying on centralized intermediaries.

This is only the beginning. The roadmap will be delivered step by step, with security, reliability, transparency, and continuous improvement guiding every stage of development.

Welcome to Obsidian Network.
